May 6 – Humboldt County Independent Business
Alliance Volunteer Meeting
We're publishing a directory of all the local businesses our community
has to offer - which means tons of business outreach and research. Learn
about the business community in Humboldt County and step up to lend a
hand strengthening our local economy. Check out the project website to

May 18 – Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, May 18 is the Humboldt Exchange
monthly Pancake Breakfast from 10:00am to 12:00pm. We can definitely
use a few extra hands with set up and clean up. Set up shifts are 9:00am
and clean up is from 12:00-1:00pm. Call us at 269-0984 or email volunteer@duhc.org to
sign up for a shift, or get more information.
May 26th – Humboldt Exchange Open Meeting
Want to learn more about
Community Currency and how it works? Want to see every business in Humboldt-land
accepting Community Currency? Come to the Open Meeting to get your
questions answered or to get your oar in the water. Open Meetings are
the last Monday of every month from 7pm to 8:30pm. Give us a call to

May 27th - Monthly Democracy Unlimited Volunteer Training
This month’s topic is phone banking. Phone banking is an effective method
for contacting and motivating the community towards social change activism. Come
to this advanced training to sharpen your skills and even learn how to run your
own phone bank.
Please join us Tuesday, May 27th from 6-7:30 pm at the Duck House, 1402
M Street in Eureka to get the skills to phonebank up a storm!
We offer volunteer trainings every month. The event is free, but please
call 269-0984 or email info@duhc.org to register for the training.
And as always and ongoing: Office Help
Come in for open hours and help with mailings and data entry. If you're
looking for a good busywork task (we know there are folks out there who
like this kind of stuff!) this is for you.
