June/July 2008Greetings, Humboldt County Community!Inside this issue you’ll find a wealth of resources and news to connect you with others in our community. Join us as we work to build a stronger local economy in Humboldt County! Calling All Exchangers: Aiming For 50 Businesses By August 1Now that we’ve got 42 participating businesses (see below), we think it should be a piece of cake to bring on another 8 businesses by August 1. So we’re challenging the Humboldt Exchange community to help us get there! You can help make it happen as part of our growing business outreach team: • When You’re Shopping: Ask at the register if your favorite business will accept Community Currency, and show them a bill when you do it. Let us know if they say yes! • Ask Your Friends: Know a business owner or service provider in our community? We bet you do, and we know that personal connections are an easy, low-pressure way to introduce a new idea. • As A Volunteer: We can set you up with an official business packet and provide you with training to reach out to target businesses we’ve already identified. Our community is rich in local businesses so the sky’s the limit! Give us a call or come to an Open Meeting (below) to find out more. Together, we can expand the Humboldt Exchange this summer – contact us to get involved, or join us at one of the Open Meetings in June and July:
